Nhill Early Years Hub

The Nhill Early Years Hub will incorporate all local early years services including Kindergarten, Child Care, Playgroup and Maternal & Child Health, bringing together many different sites into one multi-purpose facility. The funding will be used to set up vegetable tubs for children to plant out and dig over within the new kindergarten.

A Post Harvest Reflection and Celebration evening is being organised by Nhill South Landcare at the Winiam Hall. This is an opportunity for the entire local community to socially connect, reflect, mingle and enjoy a meal together followed by entertainment for the children and concluded with an educational guest speaker.

Nhill Twilight CWA

The Nhill Twilight CWA will receive funding towards the purchase and installation of security doors, front and back of the Nhill CWA building, which will give an air flow through the building on certain days as well as security. This project is only a small part of an overall upgrade of the historical Nhill CWA building.

Winiam Hall

This year the Winiam Hall will purchase industrial fans to be used during summer when temperature in the hall can exceed 40 degrees Celsius. This will be especially useful during the weekly fitness program which is held at the hall.

Wimmera Hockey Association

For the second year, funding will support the production of the annual Season Round Up book, which is an outstanding initiative to capture and share the history of the Wimmera Hocky Association. At approximately 280 pages, it includes photos, statistics, reports, results, awards and presentations and is a great keepsake for all members.

Woorak West Fire Fighting Syndicate

The syndicate has recently done a fantastic job in raising funds and purchasing a new fire truck to replace one purchased 20 years ago. The grant will go towards erecting a new shed to help keep the new truck in good condition for the next 20 years.

2015

Nhill Air Show

The Nhill Air Show took place on the 10th October 2015 and was an outstanding success, attended by many from within the region and others who travelled to attend. The air show featured approximately 40 aircraft performing aerobatics, handling and formation displays including a performance by the RAAF roulettes. Kiata Wind Farm congratulates the organising committee for their excellent work.

Wimmera Hockey Association

The Wimmera Hockey Association produces an annual Season Round Up book to capture and share the history of the club, including photos, statistics, reports, results, awards and presentations.

Winiam Cricket Club

The Winiam Cricket Club has completed the construction of a shade sail at their ground for both home and away team members and supporters. This permanent fixture will help add to cricket at Winiam long into the future as all involved in the game can enjoy it in the comfort this project will provide.

Winiam Hall

The Winiam Hall received funding for two projects, some much needed building repairs as well as for the ‘Football Training for Farmers Summer Challenge’. We look forward to seeing the good results of this program and encourage project neighbours to get involved.
